Jose Manuel Martinez founded the AJUSA brand in 1972, where they manufactured engine gaskets under the Marca Espana trademark. Within a year, the company had expanded its product line and employed ten people.
Driven by Martinez’s enthusiasm and vision for the brand’s future, AJUSA experienced rapid growth. In 1976, the company moved to the Campollano Industrial Estate in Albacete, Spain, further expanding its product line. Martinez aimed to make the brand an international name despite only being in business for four years.
AJUSA participated in the Automechanica automobile trade show in Frankfurt, Germany in 1978. This opened up new international markets for the young brand.
In 1992, AJUSA expanded its production facilities to include complete engine gasket sets, accessory gaskets, and cylinder head bolts.
Hydraulic tappets and camshafts were also added to the production line.
AJUSA opened its first branches worldwide in 1996, including Limoges, Birmingham, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and Los Angeles.
Despite economic hardships, AJUSA continued to grow, adding turbo components to its production line in 2014. Their innovative drive and constant investment in research and development led to AJUSA becoming one of the top brands for combustion engine components for passenger cars and industrial vehicles, as well as spare parts for turbocharged engines.
