ATE is a highly respected brand in the automotive industry, known for its superior braking components. With over 100 years of history, ATE has a rich legacy in the field. The brand was established in 1906 by Alfred Teves, who started by providing automotive accessories and later expanded his business to include piston rings and braking systems for leading car companies such as Audi, Hansa, and Wanderer.

In 1921, ATE rebranded its logo to include the letters ATE with blue packaging, becoming synonymous with high-quality products in the automotive industry. ATE brake systems were optimized for motorsport in 1934, and by 1958, mass production of brake disks began at ATE facilities in Germany.

ATE's commitment to research and development has resulted in an expanded product catalog that includes disk brakes, pads, drum brakes, brake fluids, hydraulic and clutch components, wheel speed sensors, and tools. ATE has also demonstrated a commitment to using environmentally-friendly and sustainable materials in production.

Since 1980, asbestos has not been used in production, and since the end of the 1990s, lead has been eliminated from friction materials. Re-manufactured brake calipers are also included in the product range, and since 2010, low-dust ceramic brake-pads have been in production.

ATE's reputation for quality has not gone unnoticed, and the brand has supplied high-performance four-piston fixed-caliper brakes for the Ferrari 365 GTB and the Porsche 911 S. Despite setbacks during World War II, ATE has persevered, employing over 3,500 workers in 1948 and continuing to innovate and improve its products.
