The Bilstein Sport B8 shock or strut is designed for BMWs running lowered suspension. They are designed to improve handling of your BMW while fitting perfectly with lowering springs. Bilstein shortens the length of the piston to allow for correct travel at a lowered stance. The improvements are achieved through Bilstein’s monotube design as well as shorter travel length which allows your suspension to cool more efficiently. Inside the shock or strut, there is oil that flows through valves to control the speed that the piston moves. The hotter the oil gets, the thinner it gets and faster it flows. Reducing the temperature of the oil through more surface area of the monotube design allows the shock or strut to maintain lower temperatures keeping the dampening consistent. All monotube Bilstein shocks and struts have internal bump stops and include a dust boot to protect the piston from corrosion. Additionally, the pistons are coated with a proprietary coating guaranteed for the life of the shock. All Bilstein Sport B8 Shocks and struts carry a limited lifetime warranty!
